Golgi Apparatus
General View of a Golgi Apparatus
The Golgi Apparatus is an organelle that is located in both animal and plant cells that intake proteins and Lipids and organized and modified . After being modified, the organelle precedes to ship them out in vesicles that pass through the trans face, and pass through the membrane by the effects of a protein to open up a Chanel so that they may be shipped to their respective destination.
Cis face
The Cis face is the entrance in which the Golgi apparatus takes incoming vesicles so that the organelle may take in the proteins and the lipids. These proteins and lipids come from the endoplasmic reticulum which are also transported in vesicles.
Trans Face
The Trans face is the portion of the Golgi apparatus that secretes vesicles that pass through the cells membrane and gets transported its respective destination; as had been previously stated.
Lumen
The lumen is just an empty tubular space between the cisternae.
Cisternae
The cisternae carry Golgi enzymes to help or to modify cargo proteins traveling through them destined for other parts of the cell.
